Ningbo Customs District is a government agency that supervises and managers all arrivals and departures from the Customs territory of Ningbo. It is a full-deparmtent-level government agency that directly reports to the China Customs. The supervison region is the Ningbo administrative area and the sea area. It is a holistic customs district focusing mainly on supervising and managing marine cargo. Ningbo Customs District has a total of 6 offices (Field Operation Office, Development Zone Office, Airport Office, Yuyao Office, Cixi Office and Yinzhou Office) and 5 customs houses (Zhenhai, Bonded Zone, Beilun, Daxie and Xiangshan). The working guidelines upheld by Ningbo Customs are to exercise law-based administration, keep the national gateway, serve the national economic interests and promote social development. Its teambuilding principle is to make Customs personnel politically staunch, professional and reliable. In accordance with the Customs Law of the People¡¯s Republic of china and other related laws and regulations, Ningbo Customs supervises and inspects imported & exported goods, articles, inward and outward means of transport, personal articles as well as mails and parcels. It also shoulders such major responsibilities as duty collection, audit-based Customs control anti-smuggling and foreign trade statistics compilation.
